Dorothy Dodds Elementary School
A constant increase in student enrollment exhausted facilities across the Moorhead Area Public Schools District for classroom space. This elementary school was designed to proactively resolve the space shortages while providing quality amenities equitable to other schools within the district.
The school houses up to 750 students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Each grade level has a dedicated learning community with flexible spaces and maker labs that help encourage group learning and collaboration. Teacher planning spaces, locker bays, satellite learning support services and resource storage are also located conveniently in each learning community.
Shared spaces include two music studios, an art studio with a kiln, two full-size gymnasiums with space for a future addition, student commons with cafeteria seating and an independent full-service kitchen that serves breakfast and lunch daily.
