Scheels Center for Performing Arts

The Scheels Center for the Performing Arts provides a substantial presence on the Oak Grove campus for the performing arts of music and drama. This project was geared towards the arts with a raised performance platform, lighting catwalk, and control room. An audience of 700 can be accommodated with the retractable padded seating in addition to chairs located on the floor. The adjacent spaces include rehearsal rooms, music practice, associated staff offices, gathering spaces, toilet rooms, and mechanical room. These spaces comprise 24,300 square feet of the building project.

When not being used as a performing arts venue, the performance space can be converted into an athletic practice or junior high competition space. The portable basketball hoops, volleyball net, and scoreboard can all be stowed out of view when not in use.
