Dan Kleist

Dan has been with Gehrtz Construction Services since its inception in 2001, joining the ownership team in 2018. As a Principal Construction Manager, Dan coordinates and oversees the construction process from the design phase through construction. He serves as a liaison between the owner and the construction team, ensuring that accurate and up-to-date information is passed on to the owner as construction progresses. In his free time, Dan enjoys fishing, hunting, attending sporting events and spending time at the lake with his family.

What interested you in pursuing construction management as a career?

I enjoy the dynamic of being involved in the construction and planning of buildings. There are so many different directions this career path can take you and each comes with a new set of information and skills to learn and hone.

What’s the best part of your job?

I love ensuring that the owners end up with a final product that they’re happy and excited about. Handing off a completed project is always a very satisfying day.

What do you like most about being part of GCS?

The variety of projects that we take on as a firm is very diverse. Each day on a new project is different and that makes it energizing. I love working with our people too, the firm has a very strong sense of camaraderie which makes it easy to problem-solve and collaborate on projects. There is always a willing co-worker ready to listen and brainstorm ideas and solutions.
